The Annual Firefighter Water Fights at the Vintage Festival is a time honored tradition that is taken not so seriously, but with a lot of dedication and brings forth some serious competition. Due to the drought the event has transformed into a fun and challenging “Water Fights” team challenge. Our competitors must work together in a bucket brigade to transfer a set amount of water from one container to another spilling as little as possible. During the battle the audience cheers on their favorite team and has a lot of Sonoma fun!
How do the fights work?
- A metal keg will hang in the center of the playing field.
- One team on each side will attempt to move the keg over the opposing team’s line by spraying it with their fire hose.
- This is repeated until we get to the two remaining teams who will then compete in a final round resulting in the champion!
During this battle the audience cheers on their favorite team, makes a point to get wet and have a lot of Sonoma fun! If gettting wet isn’t your cup of tea you can watch safely from a distance or partake in some of the other fabulous events happening at the festival.
