What festivals are

Festivals are an expressive way to celebrate glorious heritage, culture and tradition. They are designed to celebrate the special moments and emotions in our lives with our loved ones. They play an important role, adding structure to our social lives and connecting us to our families and the past. They distract us from the daily, tedious routine of life and give us some inspiration to remember important things and moments in life. Festivals have begun to pass down legends, knowledge, and traditions to the next generation.

All festivals are cultural in one way or another. There are many types of cultural festivals, such as national, religious, and seasonal. They all serve the purpose of bringing happiness into our lives and strengthening our sense of community.

National festivals: They bring us together as people of a nation. National festivals connect citizens to important moments in a country’s history, such as: the founding of a nation, Independence Day, or in Europe, Victory Day (Europe’s victory in World War II) is celebrated across the continent, and many countries have a national holiday. They reinforce patriotic sentiments in society.

Religious holidays: Religious holidays are important to families. For simplicity, we can all agree that religious holidays help us teach principles and ethics to our next generations. The various religious holidays all carry the same message of love, tolerance and understanding. On such occasions, we express our gratitude to God for a special thing or event that occurred on that particular holiday.

Seasonal Festivals: Seasonal festivals reflect people’s relationship to nature. These festivals are important because they are connected to the food supply. People must adore nature and acknowledge its bounties before they can eat any of its gifts.

In general, to put it simply, all festivals everywhere are associated with harmony, peace, and happiness.
